What payment methods are available in an online shop?

As a webshop owner in Hungary, we can set up several different payment methods for our customers. It is important to consider the convenience and security of our customers, as well as the economic benefits for our own business. Here are some common payment methods that you may want to set up in your webshop:

  1. Payment by credit card:  Pay with Visa, MasterCard and other popular credit cards. By using secure payment gateways, we can protect your customers' personal and financial data.
  2. Aftermath: Many customers prefer to pay cash on delivery. When products are delivered, the courier is paid for the purchase, so this can increase customer confidence. Although there is a risk that the customer does not ask for the product ordered, he or she does not collect the product from the courier, forcing us, the webshop owner, to incur extra costs.
  3. Bank transfer: We can give customers the option to pay by bank transfer. In this case, your order will only be dispatched once the transfer has been received.
  4. PayPal: With PayPal integration, we can allow customers to pay with their PayPal account or credit card. This is a popular and secure online payment method, although it is not yet widespread in Hungary.
  5. SimplePay: SimplePay is a domestic online payment solution that accepts credit card payments and offers extra services. We can also integrate this payment option into our webshop.
  6. Elizabeth Voucher: If the webshop is targeting the Hungarian market, accepting the Erzsébet Utalvány (Elizabeth voucher) may be a good idea, especially for gift products or services.
  7. Cash payment: In some cases, we may give customers the option to collect the products in person and pay cash.

It is always important to ensure that payment methods are secure and convenient for customers. As a service provider, it is also advisable to analyse the fees and costs associated with each payment method in order to choose the one or ones that are most favourable for your business.
